Al Basirah is a Research Journal by Department of Islamic Studies NUML (ISSN Print: 2222-4548, Online:2520-7334) was started in June, 2012 and recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in Y category in 2015 and awarded X category in 2018. Al-Basirah is a double blind peer reviewed journal which is indexed by renowned indexing databases. The journal aims at investigating and bringing forth innovative research-based concepts and practices in the discipline of Islamic studies at national and international levels. Its goal is to highlight Islamic concepts to answer the questions and to find solutions of different issues arising in modern era in the light of Shariah. The journal provides platform to researchers, classroom practitioners and academic professionals to share their novel theoretical and practical research initiatives. Al Basirah not only encourages scholars to be creative, but also attempts to motivate and guide readers to be inquisitive, creative and critical in approach. The journal is constantly striving to achieve excellence by promoting quality of research. It is also committed to step forward with great zeal and zest to maintain standards of quality and integrity. Al-Basirah welcomes stimulating, inspiring, and informative research papers catering to the complex and increasingly diversifying multidimensional needs of learners, teachers and professionals in diverse contexts. Contributions that break new grounds in the domain of Islamic sciences Instead of assuming the values of originality, neutrality, objectivity, diversity of opinion, contribution of knowledge, strength for argument, truth and honesty Al-Basirah has incorporated all these values in process of selection and review.The Journal has diversified experts in its editorial and review board and is open to a wide range of methodological approaches and philosophical underpinnings.

Scope and History
Scope
Al Basirah is an interdisciplinary biannual journal focuses on religious studies that seek to publish arbitrated articles dealing with various aspects of life. It covers various branches of knowledge such as Uloom-ul-Quran, Uloom-ul-Hadith, Usool-e-Fiqh, Comparative Religions, Ilm-ul-Kalam, Sufiism, Philosophy, History, Culture and Civilization, Law, Politics, Economics, Anthropology, Education, Human rights, contemporary issues in Islamic perspective as well as Arabic language and Literature etc.
Similarly, Commentary on Islamic books and biography of Muslim Personalities are also published in it. The Journal accepts articles in three Languages (Urdu, Arabic and English). It seeks to establish a scholarly relationship between academic and intellectual communities of the world in the field of Religious Studies.
Al Basirah is print and online research journal published by Department of Islamic Studies, NUML with assistance of HEC. The journal provides a platform to post graduate students, scholars, professors to publish their valuable research on current issues. International perspective is also reflected by the Journal’s trilingual approach as it welcomes research papers in Urdu, English and Arabic.
History
Dr. Syed Abdul Ghaffar Bukhari is the founding Editor of Al Basirah, started working on the Journal in 2010, in collaboration with the NUML. In the beginning, he worked hard for the publication of Al Basirah from NUML. He faced a lot of problems regarding the funding and publication. Because of his great personal efforts HEC recognized Al Basirah in “X” category in January, 2018 in the editorship of Dr. Syed Abdul Ghaffar Bukhari.
Most importantly, it is the honor for this research journal (Al Basirah) that it has gained (1st Prize) in National Seerat Conference held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding research journals’ categorization, Islamabad.
Vision and Objective
Vision
Research Journal Al Basirah, recognized by HEC in ‘CX’ category was started in June-2012. It is a peer reviewed journal and is published biannually by the Department of Islamic Studies, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) (Islamabad, Pakistan) under the patron in Chief Rector NUML.
Its mission is to appreciate brilliant scholarly research in Islamic thought. Al Basirah not only encourages authors to be creative, but also attempts to motivate and guide readers to be inquisitive, creative and critical in approach. The journal is constantly striving to achieve excellence by promoting quality of research. It is also committed to step forward with great zeal to set standards of quality and academic integrity. In recognition of its efforts and contribution to research, the journal is upgraded to category “X”.
Objective
The aim of Al Basirah is to deliver a platform to academic researchers, teachers and students to share their efforts and circulate their results to promote research in the field of Islamic Studies, through providing opportunities for print and online access to quality material for all those who are interested in research regarding religious sciences.
The purpose and goal of journal is to highlight Islamic concepts to answer the questions and to find solutions of different issues arising in modern era in the light of Shariah.
