Abstract

Allah is the real owner of sovereignty and ruler of the universe. He honored the man in this world being His representative. The position awarded to Man is itself a very important responsibility. He cannot fulfil his obligations until he may be in a position to maintain balance between his rights and duties. This approach based on moderation is a realistic demand from the ruler and the people to be ruled as well. Ruler should use this authority with care. Ruler of a country possesses official authority as a sacred responsibility. Coming to a broader sense, one can say that all government and non-government positions and offices have been delegated powers and authorities. So it is necessary to use them responsibly. On the contrary, if these authorities are abused, entire social system will be spoiled. Prophet (r) of Islam was the first ruler who set such ethical standards that should be followed by the rulers of the world. Therefore, it is important that eligible individuals be appointed to important positions. We have clear and practical guidance from teachings of Prophet Muhammad (r) in this regard.
