Foreword Two

Foreword Two

Brother Dr. Badr Hashemi has devoted care and attention to the tone and approach of the Translation and Paraphrasing of The Qur’an which is non-sectarian, true to the spiritual intent of Allah-consciousness, sincere toward leading to piety and righteousness.

The style of presenting the Translation, which proceeds smoothly in strict conformity with the Sacred Arabic Text and Paraphrasing (in italics) is persuasive that is inviting both for Muslim readers and others.

This is the most profound scholarly work of Brother Badr Hashemi. His monumental translation and annotation serve as a matchless aid to understanding the Holy Book of Islam and provides in itself a complete education in the faith. If one is new to the Holy Qur’an, I hope this book will provide a balanced view of the heart of the Qur‘an. If one is already a student of the Holy Qur’an, I hope this will perhaps awaken a new appreciation for the universal spiritual wisdom of the Book.

Reading a good translation such as this one can help us not only gain wisdom but also articulate this wisdom for others. I trust it would equally help in refining and fine tuning what everyone knows about the Qur’an, Islam, and Muslims.

May Allah accept this service to His Book, and enable his readers - especially students in colleges and universities - to make the best use of this valuable contribution to the Study of
The Qur’an.

جنات کی حقیقت (اسلامی تعلیمات کی روشنی میں ایک تحقیقی جائزہ)

Some things we can not drive and achieve ethics from wisdom and philosophical thought.  Just as Jinnah (Jinn). Literary word Jinnah (jinn ) is derive from the Arabic alphabet means to hide or  cancel. Thus as their description suggests that  they are invisible physically. Different views has been recorded and reported that these are not a  created being, just a doubt or (whim) but others believe them a creature not a result of any hidden feeling  sense of thought but here sacred jurisprudence (shari’ah) states that they are created one like humans having proper way of  youth and puberty, having domestic life and science suffered towards death lastly human eye can  not see us bound to fulfill the requirement of shari’ah and observed to keep in different sects and tribes persuasion like us. Human and jinnat as power and authority.  Quran proves courtery which we can not ignore. “ I did not create the jinns and human except to worship me”(51/56). Islamic jurisprudence is the best source to prove to existence of jinns with beliefs and thick proof   as Rab e kareem say, s “ Indeed we created man from dried clay of  black smooth mud and we created the jinn before that from the smokeless flame of fire”.(15: 26/27)

Genetics of Morpho-Physiological Traits in Wheat under Normal and Drought Conditions

Six bread wheat cultivars/lines viz., Faisalabad-08, Lasani-08, Sehar-06, Chakwal-86, Chakwal-50 and 6302 were hybridized in full diallel fashion. Thirty F1 crosses along with six parents were planted in a triplicate randomized complete block design in the experimental area of Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Experiment was sown under both normal and drought conditions. Data on attributes viz., plant height, flag leaf area, number of tillers per plant, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight, spike length, spike density, grain weight per spike, biomass per plant, grain yield per plant, harvest index, extrusion length, stomatal frequency, stomata size, epidermal cell size and leaf venations were recorded and subjected to the analysis of variance technique to find out the genotypic differences for the characters, which were found significant under both environmental conditions. Data were further subjected to diallel analysis for genetic studies. The Vr-Wr graphs indicated over-dominance type of gene action for spike length and grain weight per spike and leaf venations under both sowing conditions and for flag leaf area, biomass per plant, harvest index and stomatal frequency under normal condition, whereas for number of tillers per plant under drought condition. Additive with partial dominance type of gene action was observed for number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, plant height, 1000-gran weight, grain yield per plant, extrusion length, spike density, stomata size and epidermal cell size under both sowing conditions and for number of tillers per plant under normal condition and for biomass per plant, harvest index, stomatal frequency and flag leaf area under drought condition. Over-dominance type of gene action detected under normal condition for flag leaf area, biomass per plant, harvest index, and stomatal frequency was changed to additive with partial dominance type of gene action under drought condition, while additive with partial dominance gene action under normal condition for number of tillers per plant was altered to over-dominance type of gene action under drought condition
