دوسرا حادثہ علامہ یوسف علی کی وفات کا ہے، وہ جدید تعلیم کی بہترین پیداوار بہت پرانے اور بڑے فاضل آئی سی ایس تھے، انگریزی پر ان کو اہل زبان جیسی قدرت حاصل تھی، وہ متعدد بلندپایہ کتابوں کے مصنف تھے، ان کی ایک کتاب کا ترجمہ ’’ہندوستان قرونِ وسطیٰ میں‘‘ کے نام سے اردو میں بھی شائع ہوچکا ہے، یہ ان کے ان لکچروں کا مجموعہ ہے جو انھوں نے ہندوستانی اکیڈمی الہ آباد میں دیے تھے، اگرچہ ان کا قالب مغربی تھا، مگر ان کا قلب ہمیشہ مومن اور ان کا قلم ابتداء سے اسلام کی خدمت میں مصروف رہا، ان کا سب سے بڑا علمی و دینی کارنامہ قرآن مجید کا انگریزی ترجمہ ہے، جو ادبی خوبیوں کے لحاظ سے انگریزی زبان کا شاہکار سمجھا جاتا ہے، اس کی ایک خوبی یہ بھی ہے کہ مترجم نے ان جدید مفسرین کے برعکس جو محض یورپ کی مرعوبیت میں آیاتِ قرآنی میں خود ساختہ تاویلیں کرتے ہیں، اپنے حواشی میں کوئی ایسی تاویل نہیں کی ہے جو سلف کے عقائد کے خلاف ہو، اس لئے دینی طبقہ میں بھی اس ترجمہ کو پسندیدگی کی نظر سے دیکھا گیا، اﷲ تعالیٰ اپنی کتاب عزیز کے اس خادم کو اس کی خدمت کا صلہ عطا فرمائے۔ (شاہ معین الدین ندوی، جنوری ۱۹۵۴ء)

 

An Analysis of Indo-Pakistan Nuclear Doctrines

This study explores the dynamics of nuclear politics in Indo-Pakistan relations. The events after the nuclearization of South Asia aroused an extensive discussion about the basic reasons of countries becoming nuclear. Deterrence idealists have put forward the Nuclear Peace Theory advocating that nuclear arms make war terribly expensive and evade conflict among atomic opponents and thus generate constancy among them. Deterrence cynics have debated that the new nuclear-powered countries would not be able to accomplish the rudimentary requisites for deterrence stability as they would be disposed to defensive and preventive war tactics, construct susceptible atomic weaponries that would disposed to illicit usage. While discussing both stability and instability of nuclear weapons, the intellectuals disregard the importance of nuclear doctrines of the nuclear states which can cause deterrence disappointment or guaranteeing its strength. The author has used primary and secondary data. The primary sources are news bulletins and websites and secondary sources are books, journals etc.

The Mediating Effects of Employees’ Career Issues on the Relationships Between Organizational Learning Culture and Employees’ Perceived Job Performance

Organizational learning culture, career issues and perceived job performance have widely entangled the attention of researchers because of its academic and practical implications. The subject area has extensively been investigated, yet it still has vast potential for further research. Previous researches have studied these variables in bits and pieces. The current study consolidates these variables into one model and puts the model for validation with the empirical evidence from colleges’ teaching staff in Malakand Division. The study used a sample of 395 faculty members collected from colleges in the Malakand Division through stratified random sampling technique. The hypothesized model of the current research is an interdependence model that is why this model is evaluated through Confirmatory Factor Analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Path diagrams have been drawn through AMOS. Findings of the current research, in major, validated the hypothesised model which have theoretical basis in the findings of the previous research regarding organizational learning culture, employees’ career issues and their positive impact on employees’ perceived job performance. These results have significant implications; including enabling researchers to enhance their understanding of these relationships as well as help policy makers to critically look into such relationships when formulating policies that affect employees’ performance. Academically, these findings enrich the existing body of knowledge on organizational learning culture and its impact via other HR interventions in the developing countries like Pakistan. Future research studies should explore other antecedents like organizational citizenship behaviour, organizational justice and organizational politics to have a more in-depth approach in the field. Some may replicate this study in other settings as well as in some other developing countries.
