حضرت مولانا سید سراج احمدرشیدی مرحوم
اس سلسلہ میں ہم کو اپنے استاذ حضرت مولانا سید سراج احمد رشیدی کابھی ماتم کرناہے۔ حضرت مولانا دیوبند کے قدیم اساتذہ میں سے تھے۔’القاسم‘ کے دور اوّل میں اس کی ادارت کے فرائض آپ سے متعلق تھے۔ صاحب علم وفضل ہونے کے ساتھ صاحب باطن تھے، حضرت مولانا گنگوہی سے نسبت حاصل تھی، بے حد ذاکر شاغل، وضع کے پابند، اخلاق ومروت کامجسمہ، بزرگانہ خصائل وشمائل کے پیکر، طلبہ کے مونس وغمخوار،دوستوں کے جاں نثار، دوست اورچھوٹوں کے مشفق وشفیق بزرگ تھے۔ دیوبند میں عرصہ دراز تک مشکوۃ شریف کاخصوصاً اور ادب وفقہ کی اعلیٰ کتابوں کاعموماً درس دیتے رہے۔۱۹۲۸ء میں حضرت الاستاذ علامہ سید محمد انورشاہ اپنی جماعت کے ساتھ دیوبند سے ڈابھیل منتقل ہوئے تو آپ بھی اس کارواں کے بزرگانِ کارواں میں سے ایک تھے، صدحیف کہ وہاں تقریباً دس سال تک علم حدیث کی خدمت جلیلہ میں منہمک رہنے کے بعد آپ نے داعیٔ اجل کولبیک کہا اور اس دنیائے دنیٰ کوہمیشہ کے لیے الوداع کہہ گئے۔ اناﷲ واناا لیہ راجعون۔
آپ کی صورت دیکھ کر بزرگانِ سلف کی یاد تازہ اورآپ کی باتیں سن کر قلب ودماغ کو خاص مسرت ہوتی تھی۔آپ عالم کامل تھے اورشاعر خوش نوا بھی۔ آپ علم حدیث وادب کے مدرس بھی تھے اورخوش بیان وبذلہ سنج بھی، سنجیدہ ظرافت آپ کی باتوں کاجوہر تھی۔ ایک عرصہ سے دمہ کے عارضہ میں مبتلا تھے لیکن اس کے باوجود تہجد اوروظائف کی پابندی کرتے تھے۔

Information Management From the Interpretation of Al-Quran: Study on Tafsir Nur Al-Ihsan

The development of works in the field of Quranic interpretation has grown rapidly in this age. The work in this field has been written in various major languages of the world such as Arabic, English and Malay. The resulting works contain a lot of information quoted from the works written by previous authors. For example, the work of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan written by Muhammad Said Omar contains a lot of information quoted from Tafsir al-Jalalyn, Tafsir al-Baydawi and Tafsir al-Jamal. Nevertheless, this study found that the information was widely quoted by the author until there was an inaccurate information being referred to by him. Therefore, a method or system should be practiced so that the information contained in the work of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan can be managed well as well as avoid the mistakes of readers. One way to manage these resources is to identify the original work referred to by the author. The analysis of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan used the genetic approach which was published by Goldman in studying the origin of the resources. This study referred the text from Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan and the texts of works that became author's references, which are Tafsir al-Jalalyn, Tafsir al-Jamal, Tafsir al-Baydawi, Tafsir al-Khazin, Tafsir al-Baghawi, Tafsir al-Tabari, Tafsir al-Qurtubi, Tafsir al-Razi, Tafsir al-Nasafi, Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Tafsir al-Tha’labi, and made a comparison of the texts to detect the similarities and differences. The result of the analysis proved that Syeikh Muhammad Sa’id implemented five methods; which are quoting the text in parallel, writing an abstract, removal of some of the words, adding explan-ation, and refuting part of the text. This study also revealed the purpose of Syeikh Muhammad Sa’id while creating his work is to strengthen the translations written. Thus, he successfully strengthens translation when the contents of the text are parallel to the reference. However, in certain places existed a text from the author's references contradicts with the content of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan, which failed his attempt to strengthen the translation in certain part of the text. Optimization of Operational Parameters of Advanced Oxidation Processes for Pulp and Paper Wastewater Treatment

Pulp and paper industry is well known for employing a massive amount of fresh water as well as producing large quantities of wastewater. The wastewater from paper and pulp industry contains high strength organic and inorganic pollution which has the potential to deteriorate the environment and have adverse effects on human health and water receiving bodies. The conventional treatment processes are less efficient to remove persistent organic compounds like colour, COD, lignin and other organic pollutants from paper and pulp wastewater. This research presents the advanced treatment of real wastewater by optimizing operational parameters like initial pH of wastewater, ozone dose, catalyst dose, catalyst stability, the initial concentration of COD in wastewater and reaction time. Three types of catalysts including natural zeolite (NZ), activated carbon (AC) and alumina (Al) were used. The advanced oxidation processes (O3/UV, O3/NZ, O3/AC, O3/Al) were used to treat real wastewater (black liquor) from the paper industry. Three main parameters (COD, colour, and TOC) were selected to investigate the performance of said processes. The reason behind this selection was that if we control these parameters in wastewater then other parameters (in the form of pollution) automatically decreases and this will result in cost and time-saving in the process. Catalysts were prepared under optimal conditions and their characterization was performed by considering adsorption properties, morphology, and chemical structure. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed the physical and chemical aspects of the catalyst structure. FTIR analysis presents catalysts typical profile and presence of different functional groups. BET analysis showed surface properties (pore size, pore volume, etc) of catalysts. The EDX studies showed the presence of different elemental composition in the selected catalyst. The results reveal that the O3/UV process showed 43.64% COD, 64.42% colour and 45.64% TOC removal. The COD and colour removal efficiency during the O3/NZ process was 71.75% and 88.79% respectively. The TOC removal during O3/NZ process was 56.43%. The O3/AC process showed the maximum COD and colour removal efficiency of 91.75% and 97.51% respectively. The TOC removal during O3/AC was 64.1% The O3/Al process showed 82% COD, 93.78% colour and 53.09% TOC removal. Among the studied AOPs, the catalytic ozonation by using AC showed the maximum COD, TOC and color removal efficiencies at the natural pH of the wastewater. The parameters (pH 6.8, ozone dose 0.3mg/ml, CODo 400 mg/l, catalyst dose 10 g/L, time 120 min) proved to be optimum for the studied processes.
