میری زندگی کا مقصد
نحمدہ ونصلی علی رسولہ الکریم امّا بعد فاعوذ بااللہ من الشیطن الرجیم

وما خلقت الجن والانس الا لیعبدون ط صدق اللہ مولنا العظیم
صدرِذی وقار! معزز اسا تذہ کرام اور میرے ہم مکتب ساتھیو! آج مجھے جس عنوان پر اظہار خیال کا موقع فراہم کیا گیا ہے وہ ہے:’’میری زندگی کا مقصد ‘‘
معزز سامعین!
اس دنیاو مافیہا میں کوئی چیز ایسی نہیں جواللہ تعالیٰ نے بے مقصد پیدا فرمائی ہو۔ مشرق سے مغرب تک جنوب سے شمال تک، زمین کی گہرائیوں سے لے کر آسمان کی بلندیوں تک ، خلوتوں سے لے کر جلوتوں تک ، تنہائیوں سے لے کر شہنائیوں تک ، گود سے لے کر گور تک ہر چیز اللہ تعالیٰ نے بامقصد پیدا فرمائی ہے۔
جنابِ صدر!
ریت کا ذرہ ، پانی کا قطرہ، ہوا کا جھونکا، صحراؤں کی سنسناہٹ ، فضاؤں کی سرسراہٹ، ستاروں کی چمک، سیاروں کی دمک، پھولوں کی مہک ،کلیوں کی چٹک، سورج کی روشنی، چاند کی چاندنی یہ جملہ مظاہر فطرت ببانگِ دہل یہ اعلان کررہے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں بامقصد اور کائنات کی رنگینیوں میں اضافے کے لیے وجودعطافرمایا ہے۔
معزز حاضرین!
ایک مرتبہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ سے عرض کی اور ہم کلام ہوئے کہ یا اللہ العالمین تو نے چھپکلی کو کیوں پیدا فرمایا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ارشاد فر مایا کہ اے موسی کچھ دیر پہلے یہی سوال مجھ سے چھپکلی کر چکی ہے کہ تو نے موسیٰ علیہ السلام کوکس مقصد کے لیے پیدا فرمایا۔ عربی کا مقولہ ہے:فعل الحکیم لا یخل عن الحکمہکہ حکیم کا فعل حکمت سے خالی نہیں ہوتا ۔ یعنی اللہ تعالیٰ نے دنیا کی ہر چیز کسی نہ کسی مقصد کے لیے پیدا فرمایا۔

Water Sharing Conflicts and Management in the Indus River Basin

Sharing water resources within country and amongst transborder countries often create conflict because of increasing demand of fresh water for their domestic, industrial and agricultural sectors due to growing population and increasing economic activities. As a result, every country is interested to build more water storages like dams and barrages to safeguard their water requirements in the lean periods or to protect their areas during flood period. Therefore, a transboundary conflict amongst riparian countries on water sharing is obvious facts which are resolved either through bilateral dialogue or by involving international arbitrators. Similarly, a conflict of water sharing within a country has also been serious issue particularly during drought and lean period resulting political conflicts and obstacles in construction of dams and reservoirs. Pakistan is country of 207 million populations, the sixth of the most populated country of the world has been facing transboundary water sharing conflict with India while within a country inter provinces mistrust over water distribution has created reservation over the construction of new water storages. Pakistan has two agreements which provide legal framework for water distribution and management. Indus Water Treaty is an international agreement signed in 1960 between India and Pakistan and other is national agreement amongst the provinces called Indus water accord signed in 1991 by province. Despite several reservations and hostile territorial conflicts between India and Pakistan the Indus water treaty has been successfully functioning in managing water distribution of Indus River and its eastern tributaries originate from Indian occupied Kashmir. Similarly, Indus water accord 1991 provides a mechanism to resolve water sharing conflicts amongst provinces.

Production and Biochemical Assay of Antioxidants Enriched Broiler Meat

The present study was conducted to determine the effect of α-lipoic acid, α-tocopherol and wheat germ oil on the status of antioxidants, quality and lipid stability of broiler meat and meat product. One day old (180) broilers were fed with different feeds containing antioxidants i.e natural and synthetic α-tocopherol and α-lipoic acid during the two experimental years (2010- 12). The feed treatments possessed significant variation in the body weight gain and FCR while no influence found on the feed intake. The broilers fed on wheat germ oil (natural α-tocopherol) gained maximum weight (2451.97g & 2466.07g) during the experimental years 2010-11 & 2011-12, respectively. Total phenolic contents, DPPH and ferric reducing antioxidant power of breast and leg broiler meat differed significantly due to different feed treatments. Total phenolic contents were found higher in the broilers fed on T 5 (natural α-tocopherol and α-lipoic acid) in breast meat (162.73mg GAE/100g & 162.18mg GAE/100g) and leg meat (149.67mg GAE/100g & 146.07mg GAE/100g) during the experimental years 2010-11 & 2011-12, respectively. The DPPH and ferric reducing antioxidant power assay were also found higher in breast and leg meat fed on T 5 (natural α-tocopherol and α-lipoic acid). The production of malondialdehydes in the breast and leg meat increased with progressive increase in the time period. The deposition of α-tocopherol (AT) and α-lipoic acid (ALA) contents were found higher in the broilers fed on T 5 (natural α-tocopherol and α-lipoic acid) in breast and leg meat during both experimental years. The composition of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in the breast and the leg meat of the broilers were significantly affected by different feed treatments. The antioxidant enzymes and the serum bio-chemical profile were also influenced statistically by the feed treatments. The total cholesterol (113.42mg/dL & 113.62 mg/dL) and triglycerides (52.29 mg/dL & 49.19mg/dL) were found the lowest in broilers fed on T 5 (natural α-tocopherol and α-lipoic acid) during the experimental years 2010-11 and 2011-12, respectively. The physico-chemical analysis of the nuggets showed that the feed treatments exerted significant effect on the pH, color, water activity, texture and TBARS of the nuggets made during storage. The feed treatments exhibited significant effect on the appearance, flavor, taste and overall acceptability of the nuggets during storage. The combination of natural and synthetic antioxidants in feed are more beneficial in increasing the antioxidant potential, stability and the quality of the broiler meat and also helped in lowering the cholesterol level and improves the polyunsaturated fatty acid profile of the broiler meat.
