آہ! مولانا محمد عمران خان ندوی الازہری
۲۲؍ اکتوبر ۸۶؁ء کو یکایک خبر ملی کہ مولانا حافظ محمد عمران خان ندوی ازہری اپنے خاندان والوں کو دل فگار اور اپنے جاننے والوں کو دل گیر چھوڑ کر تہتر (۷۳) سال کی عمر میں اس عالم فانی سے عالم جادوانی کو سدھارے، اس خبر سے جسم و دماغ پر ایک بجلی گر پڑی۔
ان کی موت ایک خاص قسم کی قوت عمل، عزم، ادارہ، خوش انتظامی، خوش سلیقگی، خوش فکری، اور خوش و ضعی کی موت ہے، وہ اپنے پیچھے ایک درس چھوڑ گئے کہ عمل پیہم اور یقین محکم سے کس طرح اہم اور بڑے سے بڑا، کام انجام دیا جاسکتا ہے، بے سرو سامانی میں کیسے کیسے سازوسامان پیدا کیے جاسکتے ہیں، یا س کے عالم میں مخلص کارکنوں کی جماعت کی تنظیم کیسے کی جاسکتی، اور ناداری کے عالم میں بھی وہ کام انجام دیا جاسکتا ہے جو بڑی دولت کے ذریعہ سے نہیں کیا جاسکتا۔
وہ بھوپال کے رہنے والے تھے، ۱۹۴۷؁ء کے بعد جب بھوپال کا فرماں روا خاندان بھوپال چھوڑ کر دوسری جگہ پناہ گزین ہوگیا تھا تو مولانا عمران خان ندوی نے اپنی قوت ارادی کو بروئے کارلاکر بھوپال کے لوگوں کے دلوں پر اپنی فرماں روائی شروع کردی اور یہ نمونہ پیش کیا کہ تاج و تخت کے بغیر بھی اخلاص کی پاکیزگی، نیت کی طہارت اور عمل کی پختگی کے ساتھ فرماں روائی ہوسکتی ہے۔
انھوں نے تاج المساجد کی تعمیر جس طرح ازسرنو کی اور اس کی زینت و آرایش میں جس طرح اضافہ کیا، اور پھر اس کے ذریعہ سے جو دینی حمیت اور ایمانی حرارت پیدا کی، وہ ایسا کارنامہ ہے کہ دنیا کی بڑی مسجدوں کی تعمیر کی جب تاریخ لکھی جائے گی تو ان کا نام نامی بھی اس تاریخ میں ضرور لکھا جائے...

Frequency of depression and anxiety among heart failure patients in a tertiary care hospital of Faisalabad, Pakistan Depression & anxiety among cardiac patients

Heart failure (HF) is a chronic illness with high prevalence and mortality, leading toeconomic burden ofhealth due to prolonged hospital stay and re-admissions. Failure to comprehend the importance of identifying mental illnesses could lead to explanations that why the morbidity and mortality of heart failure patients endure to be very high. Objective: To determine the frequency of anxiety and depression in heart failure patients. Methods: It is a descriptive cross sectional study including 323 CHF patients admitted to the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology hospital, 250 were males and 73 were females, mean age was 54.1 ± 9.2 years having 70 years as maximum and 25 years as minimum.  Data was collected with the help of HADS questionnaire. Patients were interviewed for assessment of anxiety and depression. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 24. Mean and standard deviation was calculated for quantitative data and for qualitative data frequency and percentageswas calculated. To measure the association of anxiety and depression with age categories and gender, chi square test was used. P values less than and equal to 0.05 were taken as significant. Results: The results showed that 43% subjects had <11 score indicating no anxiety, 57% had >11score indicating anxiety. 45% subjects had<11 score indicating no depression, 55% had >11score indicating depression. Conclusions: The study concluded that frequency of depression and anxiety is high in congestive heart failure patients. Strategies are required to assess and diagnose these mental illnesses to establish early treatment which may foster multidisciplinary health care team approach and interventions that address the psychological burden.

Electromagnetic Wave Scattering from Strip in the Presence of Chiral Medium Using Kobayashi Potential Method

In this study, scattering of electromagnetic plane wave from an impedance strip located at an infinitely extended planar interface has been presented. One half space of the geometry is occupied by free space medium whereas other half space is that of the chiral medium. Assuming that chiral medium is lossless, reciprocal, homogeneous and thickness of the strip is negligibly small, Kobayashi potential method has been used as method for analysis. In order to develop good understanding of the Kobayashi potential method when applied for study of scattering in the presence of chiral medium, simple situations are first considered. As analysis of scattering in an unbounded medium is simpler than that in the presence of interface and perfect electric conducting surface is considered a special case of impedance surface. So, a perfect electric conducting strip placed in an unbounded chiral medium is treated first followed by an impedance strip in unbounded chiral medium. Finally, scattering from perfect electric conducting strip and impedance strip at the planar interface of free space and chiral mediums is investigated. In the problem formulation generic form of scattered fields which satisfy two dimensional Helmholtz ‟ s equation with unknown weighting functions is considered. To satisfy a set of boundary and edge conditions properties of Weber-Schafheitlin integral are applied. In this step, unknown weighting functions are also written in terms of unknown expansion coefficients which are determined by applying the remaining boundary conditions and orthogonal properties of the Jacobi polynomials. Far zone scattered fields are determined by applying the Saddle point method of integration. For different parameters of interests, the monostatic and bistatic scattering widths have been analyzed numerically. The convergence of solution corresponding to the number of expansion coefficients is also examined numerically.
