اردو کے ایک اور اچھے شاعر و ادیب اور تحریک کے خاموش مگر سرگرم اور مخلص خدمت گزار جناب ابوالفیض سحر ۲۲؍ جون کی شب میں حرکت قلب بند ہوجانے سے وفات پاگئے اور ۲۳؍ جون کو ۱۱ بجے دن میں بستی حضرت نظام الدین میں واقع قبرستان میں دہلی کے شعرا و ادبا اور متعلقین کی کثیر تعداد کی موجودگی میں سپردخاک کردیے گئے۔
وہ بالکل ٹھیک تھے، انتقال کے روز نوئیڈا میں جناب رفعت سروش کے گھر ایک تقریب میں شرکت کے لیے گئے تھے، شام کو واپس آئے توکچھ بے چینی محسوس کی، رات تک طبیعت زیادہ خراب ہوئی تو اسپتال میں داخل کیے گئے جہاں روح قفس عنصری سے پرواز کرگئی، ان کی صحت بہتر رہتی تھی مگر اس سے پہلے بھی ایک بار دل کا دورہ پڑچکا تھا، یہ دوسرا دورہ جان لیوا ثابت ہوا۔
سحر صاحب مارن پیٹ ضلع محبوب نگر (آندھراپردیش) میں ۱۹؍ فروری ۱۹۳۷؁ء کو ایک متوسط گھرانے میں پیدا ہوئے تھے محبوب نگر ہائی اسکول کے اردو میڈیم اسکول سے میڑک کیا، مزید تعلیم کے لیے حیدرآباد گئے، چادرگھاٹ کالج سے انٹر کیا اور کالج میگزین کے اڈیٹر ہوئے، پھر عثمانیہ یونیورسٹی حیدرآباد کے آرٹس کالج سے بی۔اے کیا، ٹیوشن سے تعلیمی اخراجات پورا کرتے تھے، بی۔اے کرنے کے بعد حیدرآباد کے ایک قدیم اور مشہور اسکول اشرف المدارس میں ٹیچر ہوگئے مگر جلد ہی یہ ملازمت چھوڑ کر ایم۔اے کرنے کے لیے یونیورسٹی میں داخلہ لیا، مجلہ عثمانیہ کے اڈیٹر بھی ہوئے، اسی زمانے میں انہیں ماہر لسانیات پروفیسر مسعود حسین خاں سے تلمذ کا فخر حاصل ہوا، جو سحر صاحب کو ان کے اخلاص اور اردو سے دلچسپی کی بنا پر بہت عزیز رکھتے تھے، باگاریڈی صاحب سے بھی سحر صاحب ان کی اردو دوستی کی وجہ سے بہت قریب ہوگئے تھے، ایم۔اے کرنے...

Socio-Economic Conditions of Home-Based Working Women: A Qualitative Study in Hyderabad, Sindh

This research paper focuses on socio-economic conditions of home-based working women in Hyderabad Division, of Sindh Pakistan. Main objectives of this research are (i) to analyze the Socio-economic condition of home-based working women (ii) to assess the poverty and home-based work (iii) to find out the illiteracy and home-based work (iv) to investigate the role of handicrafts and home-based work in cultural and economic development (v) to unearth the Sindhi culture of handicrafts in Hyderabad Division. To achieve research objectives qualitative research approach is adopted and data is collected by four case studies in Hyderabad division. All cases are selected randomly and analyzed by using thematic analysis method. Present study concluded that researched area is rich in handicrafts business. Women engaged themselves in home-based work due to poverty, unemployment and poor financial conditions of their families. This business has very low profit but female preferred this work due less skills and education required to carry handicrafts business. Home-based workers felt empowered due to having their own income and took part in decision making. In last it is recommended for policy makers and government agencies to give priority to this business because it has potential. It is necessary for economic development of families, culture and country.

Design of Cognitive Driven Adaptive E-Learning Environment Using Individual Differences

The educational system of Pakistan surrounds with several problems. Among them, the most alarming issue is the poor learning outcomes of students. The predominant cause of such worst condition is weak traditional learning environment. To cater chronic educational issues the world around us strongly rely on technology because E-learning is being considered as widely recognized alternative to handle the shortcomings of traditional learning environment. Adaptive Educational Systems (AESs) are specialized class of e-learning which aimed to deliver individualized learning experience. The AESs integrate learner‟s individual characteristics with the help of user modeling techniques to impart instruction to each individual in accordance to his/her learning needs. Numerous AESs have already been developed in the pursuit of quality learning experience. These systems consider single aspect of learner such as learning styles. The success rate of such systems is reasonably low as their impact in terms of improving learning outcomes is still unclear. The researchers affirmed that considering a single aspect of learner is not enough to positively impact the learning process. It is therefore suggested to conduct further research considering other effective parameters along with learning styles. In this thesis, an adaptive learning system is being proposed considering combination of multiple sources of personalization including prior knowledge, Working Memory Capacity (WMC) and learning styles. An experiment has been conducted using sample size of (184) students to evaluate the impact of proposed approach in comparison to traditional learning environment. The student sample was equally divided into control and experimental groups. The control and experimental groups further consisted of subgroups formed on the basis of learners cognitive and non-cognitive characteristics identified using standard instruments. The experimental subgroups learned the subject contents with proposed adaptive learning system whereas control subgroups learned in traditional classroom environment. The results revealed that participants of experimental subgroups outperformed in terms of learning outcomes and learning efficiency than their counterparts of control subgroups.
